28th August 2006 Well this is embarassing! Where have I been? Well mostly at home but if you go to Lucy's blog you will see what I have been up to. Eating vast quantities of food really...you can see this in the picture where I look like I have a builders bum. Very flattering. Other than that? Yes. I know. It doesn't really account for all those missing days. Well, I have been mainly playing Animal Crossing. The problem is that at the moment all those lovely autumn products are just coming out and I have not had a proper chance to look round the shops although I am expecting exciting things from Marks and Spencers. Will have to see. Have also seen some lovely clothes in Monsoon but often I go and have a look and they are made of silk so again, will have to check it out. I will! 14th August 2006 There is a Bourgeois Boheme relocation sale at the moment with some rather excellent items at fabulous prices. I have so far had to stop myself twice this evening from purchasing items I really don't need. I may yet still cave in. Oh and Veganstore have some amazing looking caramel filled dark chocolate bars. Check out the other new chocolates in stock too. Yes, I have removed the Google adverts because they were far too random and had started to advertise lanolin and placenta cosmetics. No thanks. Not here. Would rather make no money on this site than have things like that coming up. 13th August 2006 Hmmm. I was sure I had posted since the 6th but clearly not. It is now possible to link to my vegan recipes (all 4 of them!! woo hoo!). At least they are easier to find (and I have added a link to them on the right too). The next recipe that will be added on will include greengages. They are so hard to get hold of but I found some in Sainsbury's. Not many people have heard of them but I have fond childhood memories of little brown bags full of them. Think of them as greeny yellow plums. Of course it will only be added if the recipe is a success. High Maintenance month is going BADLY. I do not have the capability to live that kind of lifestyle at all. It is so frivilous! While I like gorgeous things like clothes, make up and bags they are not the only thing in my life. I am also idle and would rather sit and read a book than file and paint my nails. If I have any success with it all I shall let you know. What I have had success with are a couple of Urban Decay products. Big Fatty Lip Plumper and the Blusher brush are fabulous. The lip plumper doesn't look like much when it comes out the tube but I could feel the ginger and chilli working fast! Yep, chilli. That tends to be what makes the lips swell a little and make them look plumper. The general consensus among friends was that it had certainly made the lips look a little bigger but that could have been because we all started pouting! The blusher brush is gorgeously soft and the fibres don't fall out. The one downside is if I sweep it back and forth too quickly I am convinced that it starts building up static. Still it is a small price to pay for a cruelty free make up brush. So far the only full set I have found. 6th August 2006 Another quick post to tantilise and tease. I survived the torrential rain of summer school and was suprisingly hot in the tent. Duvets, pillows and sleeping bags all layered up are the way to go! The most important thing to mention is that August is High Maintenance Month. I am interested to see how this pans out as I suspect vegans are not naturaly high maintenance. There has been a delay to the start of it due to summer school causing a hinderance to any high maintenance activity. Now, I need to define what I mean by high maintenance. What I will be doing are those things such as pedicures, manicures, full skin care routines (morning and night), wearing make up every day, taking extra care over what I wear rather than throwing on jeans and a t-shirt... those kind of things. But the most important aspect of it all is that it must be on the lowest of low budgets. Like I said. I suspect it may be hard to be high maintenance but I am willing to give it a go. What I won't be adding to the month is a high maintenance attitude. Also this month I will finally have the few recipes I have organised on a easy to navigate page and will be reviewing, sort of, some Urban Decay make-up. Right now though I need to go cleanse, tone and possibly moisturise. |
